What a great spot! My friends and I stopped here for brunch while on vacation. We were staying at the Hotel San Jose, so SB was only a hop, skip & jump away. The outdoor patio is sprawling and comfortable, with artful furnishings and colorful, retro decor. It was great to be able to sit back and people watch. We started off with pomegranate mimosas which were delicious, fizzy & just what the doctor ordered after a fitful night of boozing. I had the SB omelet with applewood smoked bacon, brie, avocado, hash cake & toast. The eggs were great and cooked well, though the hash cake stole the show, IMO. Light and crispy, the usual dollop of ketchup was unnecessary as the cake had enough flavor on its own. Our tattooed waitress was awesome--and after experience some, er, not so great service in Austin we were THRILLED to interact with someone who was just plain cool. Overall, we had a great experience at the Snack Bar. And with brunch served all day long, how can ya lose?

The Snack Bar is a welcome new addition to SoCo. They offer a solid choice of local draft beers including Jester King Witchmaker and Live Oak Big Bark. Another pro? Brunch is served everyday. Of course, I took advantage: I had the Rockstar Bagel (smoked salmon, crème fraiche) which was delicious; I also tried a bite of the Ricemilk French Toast, which tasted like sugary breakfast decadence. Servers were attentive and laid-back with guests.
Be sure to follow them on Twitter and Facebook, as they often offer password discounts (hint: particularly on Mondays...)
Lastly, dog-owners, bring your pups-- they're welcome on Snack Bar's patio!
