Jennifer Lawrence gets 'Super Sweet' start
Posted January 28, 2013
Jennifer Lawrence, 22, got her Screen Actors Guild card when she was 14.
"I want to thank MTV," she said Sunday night as she accepted the SAG for best actress for her work in Silver Linings Playbook. She explained that she did a promo for MTV's My Super Sweet 16 show (2005-2007) about kids whose wealthy parents throw lavish coming-of-age parties, and it earned her the card.
"I remember getting it in the mail and it being the best day in my entire life because it officially made me a professional actor, which put me in a category with all of you," she told the SAG audience.
As for the promo? In it, Lawrence is carried into a party on a platform, like Cleopatra. But once she has arrived, she promptly falls off. Oops.
