Two afternoons of the best up-and-coming rock bands in the world. Also: Cheap booze!
A few thousand bands, dozens of venues, hundreds of unofficial day parties...there's no wrong way to do the South by Southwest Music Conference (held in Austin, Texas from March 16-20), but may we suggest two can't miss shows? Metromix is proudly co-sponsoring the Texas Tornado day parties, hosted by dotMusic, Tijuana Gift Shop, the Force Agency and Sideways Media, on March 17-18 (go here for set times and location). It's two afternoons of great music and booze, featuring Deep Dark Robot (a new project from songwriter extraordinaire and former 4 Non Blondes frontwoman Linda Perry) and up-and-comers Voxhaul Broadcast (pictured), Madison Square Gardeners, David Berkeley, Brooke Fraser, We Are Hex and Shayna Zaid & The Catch, among others.
